Welcome to the Muse Machine Course Pre-Meeting. You have been invited to join this blog to help us get acquainted via the internet. Please answer the following questions:

1) Introduce yourself in one or two sentences.
2) From the MI self assessment, give us one strength that you found and why it describes you?

....My name is Suzi Burnett and I am the art instructor at the School for the Multihandicapped at The South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind. I really think of myself as the art program and classroom facilitator, rather than the instructor. My MI strength is Intrapersonal with music close behind(even though I don't play an instrument)

I expect there to be some delightful moving to the beat sort of things .....and know there will be much more

1. Hi! My name is Belinda Pruett. I am married to my husband, Brian and we have two children. My son, Justin, is 17 and will be a junior next year. My daughter, Lauren, is almost 14 and will be a freshman next year. I teach elementary music for the Newberry County Schools. I stay very busy with my kids' activities and teaching.
2. Two of my multi-intelligence strengths were music and intrapersonal.
3. In this course, I hope to become more familiar with the other multi-intelligences and methods to reach those kids.

My name is Amy Dorsey. I am a third grade teacher at Chester Park School of the Arts. This will be our first year as an arts school. I am married with one little boy.

The MI self assessment was on target in most cases. It showed that I have verbal strength. This is perfect. Most people would say "Amen!" I have always been a note-taker and an avid reader. I enjoy chatting with others and never meet a stranger.

I hope to come away from the class with a better understanding of how I can use the arts to reach all students and help them to achieve.

am Linda Smith. I teach 1st grade at Chester Park School of the Arts in Chester, SC.

My MI strengths are Naturalist and Intrapersonal. I think these traits fit me because I understand my strengths and limitations and I have an appreciation of nature.

I look forward to learning more about multiple intelligences and how I can integrate it and the arts into my classroom.

From Dianne Carter:
Hi! My name is Diane Carter. I teach second grade at Olanta Elementary School. One of my MI strengths are intrapersonal which I found to be correct because fairness is important to me and I like helping others.
One expectation for this course is to learn creative ways to teach S. C.
Curriculum Standards.

From Harriet Crank:
Hello,
My name is Harriet Crank. I am a second grade teacher at Chester Park School of the Arts in Chester, SC. I discovered that I have strong intrapersonal strengths but low verbal strengths. (Who would have thought
this?) I am interested in learning about multiple intelligences and how this affects learning.

My name is Jamie Allison. I am thirty one years old and am legally blind.I teach art to blind and visually impaired students at the SC School for the Deaf and the Blind.

I don;t think I have taken the afromentioned test. But working with students with sensory impairments requires that you know each motility well. I tend to be more of an auditory/tactile learner. However, I will use my residual vlsion if a concept can not be interpreted by those means.

My expectations are to network with other teachers, enjoy hands-on arts experiences that I can take back to school and share with my students, and further expand my knowledge of other arts disciplines.

I hope these will serve the purpose well. I am looking forward to attending. If you need to contact me, please free to e-mail me.
